So I wrote this song for Cassie a while back and it got to where it needed to go and things were looking great. Then (of course) it fell through. Not even sure she sings anymore lolz…Why on earth I decided to work in this business that has no rhyme or reason and is just pretty much a hot mess is beyond me. But I’m stuck in love and its too late to get out.
Remember when RnB and techno had a baby in the 90’s?? And how everyone’s trying to clone that baby now in 2010? Cept, they failed. Instead of cloning it, they’ve created a mutant baby that is trying to kill our memory of what was once good music. I literally turned off the radio and sat in silence today while I was driving!
Ever hear of Crystal Waters? La Bouche? Londonbeat? It’s been done people!! If your gonna recycle at least make something useful out of it, otherwise just throw it in the TRASH! Geez louise!
Last night I went to go see a band called Rabbits Running, (of which the drummer will be playing at my show at The Palms on the 10th woop woop!!)
I really like their sound…very different and interesting and the lead singer’s voice is amazing. My favorite part about them is that the band is comprised of a lead singer, a drummer, a loop pedal, vocoder, synths, keyboard and a laptop. Loves it.

I just found out about Kerli when I heard her song Creepshow which I kinda liked just cause it had the word creep in it lol
This girl has some twisted videos, she’s VERY different and really creepy at the same time. There are a few of her songs I like but this one, “Love is Dead,” stood out to me.
The video has a Benjamin Button thing going on and is of course creepy….that seems to be her thing lol
I like her song Walking On Air too….the video looks straight out of a Tim Burton Movie…creeps.
I really like her for being different tho, that’s really rare nowadays but her videos are like borderline scary movies lol
Soooo I miss the 90’s I could post a million favorite songs a day in every genre…This one’s sorta a guilty pleasure but definitely a feel good song. Makes me smile, and I kinda needed that today. I NEVER knew who sang it til I looked it up lol I’m actually terrible with artist and song names, probably should work on that…

Ok so this is one of my all time favorite songs. I remember me and my cousins singing all the different parts and harmonies every time we were together. It was serious…everyone was assigned a part they were in charge of singing right…as if we were preparing for a performance or something lol. We loved this song! Now that I look back on it, we played alot of singing harmonizing games as children …guess tag wasn’t good enough!
I’m realizing now, even as a child, how attracted I was to songs with counter melodies and intricate harmonies, I think that’s why I usually put stuff like that in my songs…so here you go. Seal “Kiss From a Rose” Enjoy!
So the other day my nephew was watching Nick Jr. and this cartoon video starts playing along to Bob Marley’s “Everything’s Gonna Be Alright.” First of all I think its really cool that they’re playing some great music for the kids but as I was listening I really felt like “Wow, everything IS gonna be alright!” lol
So now I wake up to some stretches a cup of tea and BOB every morning. Why don’t people make feel good music anymore? Sigh* At least the oldies never get old.
People keep asking me what/who my influences are and tho I have many, Kelis releasing a new single “Accapella” reminded me of how much I loved her growing up. (Not my fav song but the video is sick) As a kid, I was very drawn to her artistry and creativity. In fact, one of my favorite songs,”Get Along With You” is a Kelis song which never really got super popular but I still love it to this day so I’m going to share it with you so you can love it too! Im pretty sure she’s the influence for some of my quirky ideas lol
I will be posting some of my favs every week, these are the things and people that influenced my artistry and what its become today. Can’t wait for you to hear the new stuff I’ve been working on!!
